How come Wolfgang didn't get a defensive flick after the questioning took place? It looks as though he's got a figure in perfect position to block yet no flick was ever taken (at least that I saw on camera)?

What was the question, I can't quite hear it on the video.

Never mind, I saw the question answered on the next clip. Was it four in this case?

I can't tell from the clip. Based on the position of the figure when the first flick is taken in the video, it would appear at least one touch-up flick was taken prior to put the figure in the position shown. The second flick puts him in a shooting position, and the third passes the ball into the penalty box. Not seeing what happened just before the video started, I'm only counting three.
I still don't understand why Wolfgang didn't get a defensive flick after the pass into the box.

wouldn't that be too easy? whenever you are in trouble, you make the game stop by asking something to the referee and then you do your block.

what's the ref to do if the guy questions the offensive move like here and then is allowed to put his untaken block? that doesn't seem quite right.
Nice vids, Paul, btw. we need more of those nice quality videos instead of the blocky stuff we usually get on youtube.

Hcapet, I agree there could be serious abuses here. Perhaps Wolfgang should have taken his block first and THEN questioned the ref.
In the heat of a match I'm more likely to immediately question what I consider to be a fourth flick than to take my block and THEN question. This is a good mental note to make though. Always play your flick first regardless, then ask the ref. That way there can be no accusations of intentionally delaying play to slip in a block.

I was reffing, Wolfgang offered not to take his defensive flick since he questioned the call.
I still maintain there were only 3 flicks and not 4 in a row by that one figure, and the video seems to support the call about 75% sure...(in other words, on the video we only see 3 flicks, and it's really hard to tell if there was a 4th, but it seems unlikely IMO, and I was the ref so that was the call.)

Excellent example of sportsmanship from Wolfgang. Rminiscent of Alexander at Berlin when he had a shot to win the junior title and admitted to touching an opposing figure that NO-ONE saw! Very good sporting play also.
