It's been a little while since I've had time to sit down and actually think about subbuteo. Life's other duties have kept me more than occupied and this wonderful little game of ours had been pushed to my personal backburner. So here's a list of random thoughts rumbling through my fragile little mind:
- Having only played subby on two occassions since the beginning of August, my back hasn't felt this good in years.
- Tyrone Willingham, Tim Lappano, and Ken Baer deserve to be fired after the Oregon State debacle last night. I know that this isn't subby related, but just when you think UW has turned the corner, a game like last night happens.
- A Stiga Hockey game should be available at all ASA events.
- Maybe it's the size of the region I'm located in, but team events just don't excite me. I think it's great at the National, I just don't get the excitement over having team events at ASA Open events. But hey, to each his own.
- I'm completely jazzed about next summer's National. I've already put in my vacation request at work. One thing that was great about St. Louis hosting the National in 2004 was that there were multiple representatives from each region and I would expect the same thing this time around. The same can't be said of the 2005 (1 from the West) and 2006 Nationals (none from the West, 1 from the Midwest, unless you count Zach as a Midwest guy), both of which were on the East Coast. I'm all about a West Coast Bias.
- Speaking of St. Louis next summer, I'm only drinking Schafly's. No A-B products for this beer snob. Also, it would be a great deed if the Cardinals had a home series that weekend. It would be very cool to catch a game at their new park.
- United's top of the table and where's City at Paul? ;-)
- Finally, don't forget about the Northwest Open, November 11th, Caldwell, ID.
